Sen. Ted Cruz has proposed a bill called Stop the Surge of Unsafe Rio Grande Encampments (SURGE) Act to bring illegal immigrants to “fancy enclaves” like Martha’s Vineyard.
He said on FOX News: SEN. TED CRUZ: I introduced legislation that would expedite review for people who came here, that would keep families together but it would not do catch and release. Instead, it would provide for 500 new immigration judges who would immediately adjudicate asylum claims. That’s how the rule of law is supposed to work.
We know how to solve this problem. The Remain In Mexico agreement that President Trump negotiated with the government of Mexico. Last year, we had the lowest rate of illegal immigration in 45 years. It worked. Joe Biden and Kamala Harris ripped it to shreds. They produced this disaster and they had no answer.
You see rich Democrats basically saying to Texas and the rest of the country, “Oh, you silly people. You should not worry about that.” And they say this while they’re at their fancy enclaves. While they are wining and dining.
I have introduced legislation today in the Senate called the Stop The Surge Act. It creates new ports of entry for these 2 million illegal immigrants. So instead of having 15,000 Haitians under a bridge in del Rio, Texas, which has just 45,000 people, that’s half of the city coming in one day in del Rio.
My bill designates new ports of industry in Palo Alto, California and Greenwich, Connecticut and Rehoboth Beach, Delaware and Cambridge, Massachusetts. Martha’s Vineyard. Block Island, Rhode Island, Governor’s Island, New York. And Nantucket. So rich Democrats can be sitting from is 10, 20, 30, 50,000 illegal immigrants, like we are seeing in Texas on a daily basis.
I can just envision them in Nantucket, sipping a martini, going, “Oh goodness, they want to come to our clubs.” They would be horrified. They need to face the disaster of their policies and the humanitarian misery they’re causing.

Sen. Ted Cruz's bill would mandate that all migrants encountered at Border Patrol Sectors in Texas be transferred to places such as Napa Valley, California; Greenwich, Connecticut; Rehoboth Beach, Delaware; and North Hero, Vermont, for processing. https://t.co/urXgrLz5mI pic.twitter.com/aG6Zme9hsh
